What is PiE?
“ENLIGHTENING THE STUDENTS THROUGH EDUCATION”
Partnership in Education (PiE) was started by St. Xavier’s College, social work department on 12th July, 2004 with a purpose to enhance educational performance and extracurricular activity skills to the students who come from an economically weak background where they are not privileged for most of the facilities.
PiE is a non-profitable agency run under the St. Xavier’s College, Maitighar where effective education is given to the students who are willing to study but are not being able to do so because of their family’s poor economic condition and also the condition of the governmental schools. Students of parents who are not able to afford private tuition classes are the target group of PiE. This agency gives free tuition classes to the students especially of settlement areas as well as low rent areas children who are really interested to study. The teachers for these students are the students of Social Work (BSW) as trainees and students of A-Level and plus two of St. Xavier’s College as volunteers.
To make students believe that they have full right and ability to pursue their dreams.
To inform students about their rights and the methods to achieve them.
