- Eligibility: Good academic record in any Bachelor Degree course with English as Major, T.U. recognized and good performance in entrance test by the college.

Master's in Social Works (MSW)
- Affilated to Purbanchal University
- No. of seats: 30
- Duration of Course: Two Years (Four Semesters)
- Eligibility: The applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree of a minimum 3 years duration or equivalent (under 10+2+3 Or 10+2+4) from a recognized university in any faculty, with a minumum of second division.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
The students are admitted to MSW on the basis of their aptitude, competence and motivation for social work.The selection of the students is done on the basis of their previous academic record, written test, group discussion and personal interview and previous exposure to social work.
WRITTEN TEST TO ACCESS:
- Working knowledge of English and Nepali to read, write and communicate.
- Comprehension of social issues and expression of thoughts in a logical manner.
Group Discussion to test the applicant's ability in public speaking and expression of ideas.
Interview seeks to ascertain the candidate's awareness of social issues, and motivation and enthusiasm for professional social work.
A merit list will be prepared on the basis of the following division of marks: 40% to graduation marks, 30% to written test,10% to Group Discussion and 20% to Interview.
The decision of Admission Committee in the matter of selection of candidates will be final.
COURSE REQUIREMENT:
Students are expected to attend classes three days a week (Sunday-Tuesday) making sure of regularity and punctuality.Classes are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To be eligible to appear for the University examinations at the end of each semester, a minimum of 80% of attendance in the classes as well as in the fieldwork is a must.
Other academic requirements include:
- Periodic written assignment
- Research Projects adn their presentation
- Seminar papers and their presentation
Fieldwork is an essential part of the professional training in Social Work.Students are expected to put in a minimum of fifteen hours of field work every week.The field work will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays.There will be external and internal evaluation of the fieldwork.Social work camps would be another requirement,meant as an exposure to and traning in dealing with social issues.
Bachelor's in Arts (Eng and Journalism/Socialwork)
- Affilated to Tribhuvan University
- No. of seats: 60
- Duration of Course: Three Years
- Eligibility: Good academic record at I. Sc./10+2 level of any stream and good performance in the entrance test and interview.Students who opt for major English as well as Journalism should have studied these subjects at their intermediate level.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
There shall be 14 papers in the 3-Year Bachelor course, each having 100 marks.These have been divided into two groups as follows.
- Compulsory subjects:
- English (Two papers) 1 + 1,Nepali (One paper)
- Major subjects:
- English - Five Subjects (1+2+2)
- Journalism/Social Work - Five Papers(1+2+2)
There will be a functional paper during the 3rd year.
1st Year - 1 paper;2nd and 3rd Year-2 papers each.Students of Journalism have practicals evaluated for 20 marks and theory for 80 marks in each paper.Students of Social work have field work evaluated for 40 marks and theory for 60 marks in each paper.
Bachelors's in Social Works (BSW)
- Affilated to Kathmandu University
- No. of seats: 44
- Duration of Course: Three Years (Six Semesters)
- Eligibility: The applicant must have an Intermediate Degree in any discipline or equivalent recognized by Kathmandu University, with a minumum of second division.
