We live in one of the most exciting times in human history. The challenges and opportunities which this world of ever accelerating changes presents to us are unprecedented. Revolutionary developments in Information Communication Technology (ICT), coupled with the fast progressing globalization process, have indeed "flattened" the world. In every sphere of life, the international playing field has been leveled. These factors present to the citizens of the world new hope, new vision, new opportunities and new challenges.
In this fast changing global scenario of today, St. Xavier's College, Kathmandu, strives to accompany its students in their search for meaning and relevance and creative new possibilities, in their striving for a just human society in which everyone enjoys peace and prosperity. More concretely we strive to instill in our students an insatiable desire to make learning a life-long process, taking full advantage of all the developments in ICT. We strive to instill in them a never-ending passion to invent and to create. Our graduates should be, not job-seekers in the global market, but innovative job-creators who would be competent to take on any global challenges. The College will, therefore strive to produce men and women who can perceive and invent creative new possibilities and design a future for themselves and for all the people of Nepal.
Rev Dr. A. Antonysamy S.J.
Principal

St. Xavier's College, Kathmandu, is an educational institution of higher learning established in 1988 and managed by the Nepal Jesuit Society. Jesuits began their educational work in Nepal in 1951 with the opening of St. Xavier’s School, Godavari, followed by St. Xavier's School, Jawalakhel and St. Xavier's School, Deonia.
Jesuits have served people of all faiths, all over the world, as educators, scientists, explorers and social reformers since 1540. That centuries old tradition of service to others is the cornerstone of Jesuit education. Education at Xavier's prepares each student to live and lead in all the endeavors. It fosters critical thinking, positive action and service to others. It challenges students to go beyond career preparation. It encourages the student to be job creators rather than job seekers, creative designers of the future.

A Journey in Education, Leadership and Service
The Jesuit traditions of educational excellence and service to others guide all the programs at St. Xavier's College, Kathmandu. By integrating the academic work and intellectual growth with physical, spiritual and emotional development through the multifarious activities clubbed together under the title co-curricular activities, the college seeks to foster competence, creativity and innovative spirit both throughout and beyond the college. At the end of their studies here at St. Xavier's, we expect our graduating students to enter the larger world with socially responsible goals, a lifelong appetite for learning and the desire to make our universe a better place. We also expect them to be prepared to use their God-given talents not only for personal fulfillment but as men and women in service to others.
The college promotes close student-teacher contacts and encourages students to develop their full potential for leadership.
